But, where can i find it?

Living across the ocean can make it super hard to get my hands on delicious Indian labels, that I swoon over on Instagram. A few labels are nice enough to make an exception, however, shipping charges can cost you your kidney & first born child!

Below are a few of my favourite websites, that are so easy to shop & shipping prices are reasonable!

But, is there time?

1. A system or method to track the passage of time

2. Not to waste

I think it’s safe to say it’s taken me a plethora of time to

a) write a blog post for this outfit

b) find a compelling topic to talk about

While researching for a topic, I realised I was spending more time scrolling through Instagram – all the in the name of research – instead of reading other styles of work & topics. After spending three hours staring at a blank draft, watching four Buzzfeed videos about puppies & sending two texts messages on how busy I am, I realised I wasn’t going to be able to meet my self given deadline.

Time can be a foe or friend.

Either plays with or against you.

But it’s your choice on how you will let time fuck with you. You either use it wisely & go chasing Z’s feeling accomplished or let it eat away at you while you watch time be good to those who know its value.

The key is not to waste time on things/people/doings who will add no value to your life. When you don’t add value to your life, time will not be of your value.

Focus on what sets your soul on fire & time will follow.

But, does my bindi match my boots?

I feel #blessed coming from such a diverse & rich culture & even more lucky to be able to mix my western & Indian clothes. My all time obsession is cotton Kurta’s, I literally pair them with denims, shorts, palazzo pants (current obsession) & better yet thigh high boots. Having such diversity in my wardrobe allows me to experiment with my everyday look & put together pieces which I would previously shy away from.

If you told me two years ago to rock a bindi, jhumkis & a kurta to work, I’d laugh & say “hell to the no boo”!

Ask me the same question today & I’m all like “HELL TO THE YEAH” with remnants of  Amla oil in my hair. Today I can say with a certain conviction I’m more comfortable in rocking a kurta with boots or even juttis with jeans.

Check out the hashtag #decoloniseyourwardrobe for more inspiration from some bad ass people!

But can you change it up?

[stey – puhl]

1. a short piece of wire bent so as to bind together papers

2. a white t shirt

Cotton, polyester or modal, a white tee is the bread & butter of my wardrobe. With the rise of fast fashion, trends are changing before you can say “is the bum bag making a come back?” ( It is )

However, you’ll find the classic white tee a constant in our wardrobes. The best part is trying to find pairings to re-invent the white tee but what’s even better is being able to mix Indian wear with wardrobe staples.

So baby get those lehengas & sneakers out.

It’s time to change it up.

And the festive season is here! For those of you who are unaware, it is Diwali on Wednesday & “What is Diwali?” you may ask:

Diwali [deh-wah-li]

– noun

1. The festival of lights; beginning of the new year

*2. Eating a whole box of sweets without being judged

*DISCLAIMER: the above is currently taking place

SO for me Diwali will be rather low key because the only exam I have this semester falls on the Friday, so instead of waving around a few sparkles, I’ll be brushing up on Investment Concept and Applications.

Anyways, because most of you out there might be at work during the day and will be a total stress-head while getting ready, let me save you all that stress and break it down for you with:

The MUST-HAVE accessories for a stress free Diwali:

1. The token gold/sparkly clutch:

Forever New

I believe every Indian women should have a gold clutch in there wardrobe, they are so versatile and pretty much go with every indian outfit. Also, I recommend you find a clutch which is a bit roomy and can fit more than your lipstick and compact. Trust me, I can’t even count how many times I’ve shoved my mobile in my friends bags because my clutch could only fit my keys.

 2. The POP of colour:

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

There is no other way to make an outfit standout is with a pop of colour. This yellow clutch is perfect for the festive season. Firstly, is a good size, can be converted into a side big and lets be real, who can resist a bright yellow clutch?

3.  The statement piece:

Rachna Reddy

The below clutch was one of the first designer pieces I bought when I started to earn some $$$. I absolutely loved the design  and the wood really creates an interesting texture. The only downfall is, it’s a bit too small for me and I can’t really fit my mobile, lipsticks, vaseline, other random necessities and is very delicate and sensitive to scratches. Meaning, if you’re clumsy like me then be prepared…

1. The one that goes with everything:

These pair of earrings literally go with everything and are definitely my go to piece. They are super light, gold in colour with white beads running through the bottom

2. The one that will complete your outfit:

I received the below as a gift and instantly fell in love with these earrings. I like to keep outfits simple and these earrings will perfectly complete your look. What I like, is that they close at the back so you won’t have to worry about loosing an earring at the end of the night

3. The little one with a BIG impact:

I cannot even begin to express my love for this pair. Perfect for the day time and can easily be transitioned into the evening.

I hope this break down will help you bring in the new year in style.

I wish you and your families a very Happy Diwali and please lets think of our furry friends and make it a noise free Diwali

Until next time…
