Living across the ocean can make it super hard to get my hands on delicious Indian labels, that I swoon over on Instagram. A few labels are nice enough to make an exception, however, shipping charges can cost you your kidney & first born child!
Below are a few of my favourite websites, that are so easy to shop & shipping prices are reasonable!
Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop
House Of Masaba
The Quirk Box
Nor Black Nor White
Saree: Surendri By Yogesh Choudhary
I feel #blessed coming from such a diverse & rich culture & even more lucky to be able to mix my western & Indian clothes. My all time obsession is cotton Kurta’s, I literally pair them with denims, shorts, palazzo pants (current obsession) & better yet thigh high boots. Having such diversity in my wardrobe allows me to experiment with my everyday look & put together pieces which I would previously shy away from.
If you told me two years ago to rock a bindi, jhumkis & a kurta to work, I’d laugh & say “hell to the no boo”!
Ask me the same question today & I’m all like “HELL TO THE YEAH” with remnants of Amla oil in my hair. Today I can say with a certain conviction I’m more comfortable in rocking a kurta with boots or even juttis with jeans.
Check out the hashtag #decoloniseyourwardrobe for more inspiration from some bad ass people!
Note: Still going bra-free.
Boots: Public Desire
Kurta: A market in Goa
Just like Carrie’s Dior Newspaper print dress, these panelled denim cutoffs continuously make appearances in my #ootd. The only difference is that Carrie is wearing Dior & I can only dream of Dior….
Back to the point, these denims can be paired with absolute anything – a white tee, a canary yellow blazer , a top hat or even a red mirchi shirt!
Some say vacation is a state of mind, however, vacation for me is:
- Sitting on a plane for 23.5 hours
- Wearing denim overalls
- Drinking beer from a plastic cup
And that’s exactly what I did! I travelled to India in December and had a an AH-MAZING holiday! I mostly enjoyed eating my way through India & exploring different cities. Each day was different and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end 2015 and begin 2016!
Until next time…
