But, is it too simple?

My style mantra is super simple & straight to the point. I always find a hero piece & keep the rest of the styling simple. In this case, I grabbed this delicious velour dress on sale & immediately decided to wear it in the middle of summer!

This dress takes you from day to night with just a quick shoe swap & hair change. If you’re not feeling risqué enough to go bra free, wear a a pale pink bralette to avoid any nip slips.

But, can you play in it?

‘Tis the season to wear minimal clothing & have ice cream for dinner.

Christmas is definitely my most favourite time of the year, however, I do sometimes wish I were bundled up in a Christmas sweater, wearing fluffy socks, drinking mint hot chocolate & watching Home Alone 2.

Even though I can’t be wearing sweaters in Sydney Summer, but I can sure wear cute playsuits, that can be worn with a belt, without a belt, layered with a white sheer tee, polo neck crop top, white top sneakers, leather jacket, bomber jacket, boots, turtle neck & maybe even a baseball cap.

It’s all about wearing it on a good & on an even better day!

But, is there time?

time

[taym]

1. A system or method to track the passage of time

2. Not to waste

//

I think it’s safe to say it’s taken me a plethora of time to

a) write a blog post for this outfit

b) find a compelling topic to talk about

While researching for a topic, I realised I was spending more time scrolling through Instagram – all the in the name of research – instead of reading other styles of work & topics. After spending three hours staring at a blank draft, watching four Buzzfeed videos about puppies & sending two texts messages on how busy I am, I realised I wasn’t going to be able to meet my self given deadline.

Time can be a foe or friend.

Either plays with or against you.

But it’s your choice on how you will let time fuck with you. You either use it wisely & go chasing Z’s feeling accomplished or let it eat away at you while you watch time be good to those who know its value.

The key is not to waste time on things/people/doings who will add no value to your life. When you don’t add value to your life, time will not be of your value.

Focus on what sets your soul on fire & time will follow.

but, will this make me happy?

Grateful

[greyt-fuh l]

1. Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful

2. Practised daily

//

It’s time to put some gratitude in your attitude. Spreading a little bit of kindness & love come from within & the first step to radiating positivity into the atmosphere is to be grateful.

Here are a few ways to practise gratitude:

  1. Every morning write down five things your are grateful for & read the list before bed
  2.  Appreciate the small things – the delicious dinner you ate last night or even the relationships you share with family & friends
  3. Say ‘Thank you’ more often
  4. Recognise that there is nothing too small for you to be grateful for
  5. Do something that makes you happy

but, it’s not too hard?

Nice

[nahys]

1. Pleasing; agreeable ; delightful

2. Not that fucking hard to be

//

Everyday we’re exposed to hate & negativity, impacting our daily lives & most importantly how we treat others. In spite of all this negativity , we have no idea what others are dealing with in their personal lives, so it’s plain and simple:

be nice.

It costs $0.00 to me a nice person & I assure you, you will not regret being a nice person. Some might say being nice is a sign of weakness  & to an extent that is true – there is a such thing as being too nice. However, a little act of kindness can go a long way. People will forget what you said, what you did, but will never forget how you made them feel. A small act of kindness can turn anybody’s storm into a rainbow.

Here are a few things you can do to practice kindness:

1. Be kinder to yourself: When you practice self love, your kindness will flood the world surrounding you.

2. Focus: Train your mind to see the good in everything & everyone. Happiness is a choice. YOUR choice.

3. Be quiet: If you have nothing nice to say, don’t speak.

4. Don’t expect a return gift: If you expect something in return for being nice person, then you aren’t a nice person.

Just remember, you are never too important to be a nice person.

But, should I?

YES.

Leave that shitty job. Dump your freeloading boyfriend. Book that holiday. Eat carbs. Workout. Get a tattoo. Wear that dress. Read a book.

There’s no right time to do anything. If you want to do something, you should. The repercussions could go wrong but what is important is what you learn from the outcome.

But, does it have to end?

My dear enchiladas this is the last outfit for the thigh high series on the blog. With Spring blossoming in T minus 2 days, I’m sure I’ll have to give these bad boys a rest soon enough & what perfect way to pair them with some good ol’ denims!

On my previous posts, I found myself talking about how I was breaking society norms one boot at a time & I will continue to stand up against trivial issues blown out of proportion by judgmental assholes who I hope are allergic to puppies!

I hope these last few outfits have inspired you to rock your thigh high boots with confidence, kewl & most importantly with conviction

But, what else do you have to offer?

2k17.

In the amidst of new jobs, old flames, bigger goals & many useless boys, I sometimes find myself questioning my recent blog shoot. If you’ve been following my Instagram or blog, you may have seen my experimental side awaken.

It’s not that I care if people can see a bit of nipple through my kurta but it’s the fact that people judge my character based on the clothes I wear. I like wearing shorts, crop tops, thigh high boots & dresses which show a decent amount of side boob, but that does not mean I’m ‘easy’, ‘cheap’ or a ‘slut’.

People are not what they seem based on the clothes they wear, there’s much more to someone than meets the eye. A women’s body is not a way to determine her character, but a way of expressing herself & her many forms.

But I have to ask, will this change?

But, does my bindi match my boots?

I feel #blessed coming from such a diverse & rich culture & even more lucky to be able to mix my western & Indian clothes. My all time obsession is cotton Kurta’s, I literally pair them with denims, shorts, palazzo pants (current obsession) & better yet thigh high boots. Having such diversity in my wardrobe allows me to experiment with my everyday look & put together pieces which I would previously shy away from.

If you told me two years ago to rock a bindi, jhumkis & a kurta to work, I’d laugh & say “hell to the no boo”!

Ask me the same question today & I’m all like “HELL TO THE YEAH” with remnants of  Amla oil in my hair. Today I can say with a certain conviction I’m more comfortable in rocking a kurta with boots or even juttis with jeans.

But, can I wear this to work?

I wouldn’t really call myself a rebel in my everyday life but when it comes down to my office style I’m a self proclaimed revolutionist!

Okay that is a little dramatic but, if you ever catch me in the break room, I can assure you I won’t be unvaried.

I’m not the girl to have a “work” & “weekend” wardrobe, but rather believe recycling items in your wardrobe, especially key pieces to create different looks.

In the next coming weeks, you’ll see the Thigh High Series unfold & see how I pair these bad ass boots with three different outfits.

And to answer the question, Yes you can…
